Hardie ColorPlus

Hardie ColorPlus Technology Siding

James Hardie siding and other products are popular because of their durability, fire resistance, and ability to repel pests that otherwise ruin wood siding. They resist dings and dents better than aluminum siding and won’t warp in extreme heat as some vinyl siding does. It’s also virtually maintenance-free: the occasional cleaning with a garden hose is all you need to remove dust and dirt.

But it’s more than function, it also looks fabulous! With several styles to choose from (wood grain, smooth, staggered shingle panels), there’s HardiePlank siding for every type of home. But the finishing touch of any siding product is the color. With James Hardie ColorPlus Technology siding, you won’t have to worry about cracking, bubbling, or peeling paint again.

Hardie ColorPlus Technology

James Hardie fiber cement products are famously long-lasting and with this proprietary finish, the color you choose will last for years and years too. Added during the manufacturing process to strengthen adhesion, the color you choose becomes a part of the material

Once the color has been applied to the fiber cement, the finish is cured in a controlled environment before the following coat is applied. The process “bakes” the color into the siding, trim, and other products and ensures the color lasts longer than wood, vinyl, and other materials.

ColorPlus Fade Resistance

UV rays from the sun can be damaging over long periods of time. Take a look at the North and South sides of your home. One side of the house will definitely be more vibrant than the other. While other products may fade, bubble, or chip away after a few years, James Hardie ColorPlus Technology siding will hold its color for more than a decade.

One of the problems with other materials is when paint, stain, or other finishes are applied in the field, the conditions aren’t always ideal. This is the Pacific Northwest after all. James Hardie ColorPlus technology is applied during the manufacturing process in a controlled environment.

ColorPlus Perfection

Another issue with applying paint to siding, trim, or other materials after the installation is the potential for uneven application. With different drying times during the day or dust and debris being blown onto the surface during the process, painting while dealing with the elements can be dicey.

There are no such issues with James Hardie ColorPlus Technology fiber cement siding, panels, fascia boards, and other products. Color finishes are all part of the manufacturing process with Hardie siding, meaning a consistent finish with every piece of siding, trim board, and HardieShingle product.

A Carefully Curated Color Pallette

When it comes to the overall look of your home, the final decision to be made is the color of the siding, trim pieces, and other exterior features. For some, this is when the fun begins. For others, it can be a stressful exercise to make sure they don’t pick the wrong color. The James Hardie Statement Collection is designed to simplify the process.

If you can’t tell the difference between eggshell and off-white or if navy, royal, and cobalt blue all look the same, James Hardie has compiled a collection of colors to help narrow your choice. These options are even region-specific because let’s face it, the Pacific Northwest has much different (better?) tastes than those on the East Coast or Deep South.

From Arctic White to Iron Gray, the Statement Collection has the right color for any personality, architecture, and age of the home. These colors have been chosen because of their timeless appeal–you won’t be embarrassed down the road because you went with a color that was all the rage a few years earlier.
